One of my favorite activites to do with my kids has always been to get an end roll of a newspaper (usually you can get them for like $3 at your news station - if you cant find it, you can get a long roll of paper from Hobby Lobby, Michaels or Walmart). Roll it out across the entire living room and let the kids go to town with tons of different mediums.

Its great for sensory and building brilliance.

We use whatever we have on hand, but here's some ideas:

Finger paint

Glitter glue

Googly eyes

Stickers

Markers

Water colors

Crayons

Colored pencils

Chalk pastels

Popsicle sticks with glue

Paint sticks

Confetti

Pom poms

Literally anything else that you can come up with and just let them go to town. The perfect part is that while they get it all out, you can either hang it up as a massive mural or its all contained mess that is easily picked up.

And if things get out of hand...it's just a little art...

And it's fun for the entire family!
